Delayne D. Johnson is the CEO of Quad County Corn Processors (QCCP) in Galva, Iowa. He is a 22-year veteran of the renewable fuels industry, a tenure that began in 2000 as he helped create the business plan, participated in the equity drive, and helped write grants to form QCCP. For the past 11 years, he has been heavily involved in business development for QCCP’s patented Kernel Fiber Technology KFT®, which converts corn kernel fiber into low-carbon cellulosic ethanol, additional distiller’s corn oil, and a high-protein, low-fiber feed. Delayne also led the ethanol industry efforts in 2011 to get corn kernel fiber classified as “Ag Residue” under the RFS, he was the lead grant writer for KFT 1.0 in 2012 with NIFA and the Iowa Power Fund which assisted in KFT 1.0 capitalization, and he led a successful startup of KFT 1.0 on time and on budget. He contracted Purina to provide a significant premium for KFT’s high-protein feed and is currently leading the QCCP team to create zero CI ethanol through KFT energy integrations. Delayne is also proud that the QCCP team produced the world’s first gallons of corn kernel fiber cellulosic ethanol on July 1st, 2014. QCCP was honored to be the recipient of the Renewable Fuels Association 2015 Industry Award for their cellulosic ethanol accomplishments. Delayne is a resolute renewable fuels advocate and sits on the boards of the Renewable Fuels Association, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, the Advanced Biofuels Business Council, and Harvestone Commodities Group.
