Weekly Ethanol Report Ending 7/9/10
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) put out their weekly ethanol production statistics, this week showing that there was a drop in ethanol production. According to EIA data, ethanol production for the week ending 7/9/2010 was 821,000 barrels per day (b/d), or 34.5 million gallons daily. That is down 4% from 855,000 b/d from the previous week.
Stocks of ethanol also fell for the week to 19.7 million barrels, down from 19.9 million barrels the previous week.
Likewise, gasoline demand for the week ending 7/9/2010 also dropped to 381.36 million gallons. As a percentage of gasoline demand, ethanol production represents 9.04%
Based upon EIA production data, the RFA calculated that the ethanol industry used 12.448 million bushels of corn daily to produce 821,000 b/d of ethanol. In addition, ethanol biorefineries produced 92,656 metric tons of livestock feed, including 81,811 metric tons of DDGS daily. Biorefineries also produced more than 3.555 million pound of corn oil daily.
