RFA Welcomes Purified Renewable Energy

(November 19, 2012) WASHINGTON - The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) is proud to announce the addition of a new member company, Purified Renewable Energy, LLC.

Purified Renewable Energy operates a 25 million gallon per year facility in Buffalo Lake, Minn., with hopes of expansion to 35 million gallons. Opening in 1997, the plant changed ownership earlier this year. Together, entrepreneurs Steve Walker and Patrick Riggs bought the once-shuttered plant and resumed production over the summer.  With the facility back online, it is single-handedly providing jobs, stimulating the economy and helping reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil.

“We are pleased to welcome Purified Renewable Energy to the RFA,” said RFA President and CEO Bob Dinneen. “The secret to RFA’s enduring success for over 30 years is the involvement of each and every ethanol producer member.  Each ethanol plant brings a unique and powerful perspective to the larger industry effort to expand the marketplace for ethanol through thoughtful policies and strategic market development.  Purified Renewable Energy’s voice will be a welcome addition to the chorus of support building to protect and promote the Renewable Fuel Standard this year and beyond.”

“As a member of the RFA, we look forward to working with industry leaders as we continue a build a stronger industry and an economically stronger, more secure, energy independent nation.   We look forward to working on such key initiatives as preserving the Renewable Fuel Standard and expanding the marketplace for E15 and higher level blends.  With new technologies coming on line every week, this is an exciting time to be fully engaged in the U.S. ethanol industry,” said Steve Walker, President of Purified Renewable Energy.
