In addition to ethanol, the facility also produces more than 350,000 metric tons of livestock feed in the form of distillers grains fed to local livestock populations as well as exported to other states and countries. Homeland Energy began production in April 2009.

“We are thrilled to welcome Homeland Energy Solutions into the RFA family,” said RFA President Bob Dinneen. “The strength of this association is its members and Homeland Energy will add invaluable insight and contribute to the long term success of American ethanol production.”

“The RFA has been the leading voice for American ethanol producers for 30 years now, and Homeland Energy is honored to join the association and do its part to shape the future of domestic ethanol,” said Homeland Energy Chairman of the Board of Jim Boeding. “Ethanol production is a vital component of rural economies today, providing new markets for farmers and jobs and economic activity for our neighbors all across the country. We have only begun to scratch the surface. Homeland Energy is committed to working with our colleagues in the RFA and throughout the ethanol industry to develop commonsense policies that expand the market for all ethanol producers.”

With the addition of Homeland Energy Solutions, the RFA Board of Directors consists of 47 individual companies. Every producing member of the RFA receives one vote on the Board of Directors. The RFA is the largest trade association for ethanol producers in the world.

Since 1981, the RFA has served as the voice of ethanol industry, helping grow the industry from just 215 million gallons to nearly 13 billion of production in 2010.
