RFA Praises Rep. Braley for Ethanol Support
February 17, 2011
(February 17, 2011) Washington – The Renewable Fuels Association today praised the efforts of Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA) in raising awareness about the anti-ethanol, anti-fuel choice agenda of some members of Congress. Specifically, the RFA welcomes the amendment offered by Rep. Braley that would reinforce the ability of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to implement the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS).
“Rep. Braley has made clear to anti-ethanol voices in Congress that attempts to weaken America’s energy future through backdoor actions undermining American ethanol production will not go unchallenged,” said RFA President and CEO Bob Dinneen. “Giving Americans a choice at the pump is the start toward gaining control over our energy future. Ethanol produced from all feedstocks provides America that opportunity.”
The Braley amendment is in response to various amendments to the House Continuing Resolution that would weaken EPA’s ability to consider greenhouse gas emission and possibly undermine the energy, economic and environmental goals of the RFS.
