North Iowan Re-elected to Help Lead National Ethanol Trade Group

(October 6, 2011) Washington – Walter Wendland, CEO of Golden Grain Energy, LLC in Mason City, Iowa, has been re-elected Secretary of the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), the group announced today.  Golden Grain Energy is a 110 million gallon per year ethanol facility.

“As an Iowan, I have witnessed firsthand the dramatic economic benefits domestic ethanol production brings to rural communities all across the nation,” said Wendland.  “Ethanol is helping hundreds of thousands of Americans to work, creating new market opportunities for farmers, and lowering the price all Americans pay at the pump.  America’s ethanol producers remain committed to developing new markets, adopting new technologies, and expanding the benefits of domestic ethanol production to more Americans.  As such, I am privileged to be a part of the leadership of an organization that has done and continues to do more than anyone to ensure the continued growth and evolution of this industry.”

Wendland has served on the Board of Directors of the RFA for 6 years.  He was elected to a one-year term as Secretary at the RFA’s annual membership meeting this week in Washington, DC.
