The Renewable Fuels Association today welcomed Lucas E3, Aon Risk Services, Ocean Park, Cereal Process Technologies, and StormFisher Hydrogen as its newest associate members.

“We are thrilled to welcome these innovative businesses to the RFA team, and we look forward to working with all of them to expand market opportunities for low-carbon renewable fuels and co-products,” said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper. “It is clear they share our vision for a cleaner, healthier, sustainable energy future. Ethanol’s important role in the energy transition continues to attract new companies to RFA’s membership, and it is exciting to see leaders from across the bioenergy industry continuing to rally around our pledge to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.”

Lucas E3 was created to offer ethanol professional engineering services and unbiased recommendations to the ethanol industry. Based in the Kansas City/Wichita area, with industry-experienced team members in Kansas, Illinois, Nebraska, Iowa and Brazil, Lucas E3 utilizes industry-best engineering and operations practices, proven equipment upgrades, and new technology innovations in equipment and process integration to enable plants to improve their businesses.

“I look forward to the National Ethanol Conference every year; it’s a welcome opportunity to get caught up and motivated on policy issues,” said Paul Kamp, industry veteran and National Sales Director for Lucas E3. “It’s a great venue for meeting with industry leaders and getting business accomplished. I’ve been continuously impressed by the attitude, knowledge, and capabilities of the RFA team.”

Aon Risk Services delivers an unparalleled depth of knowledge and experience to effectively guide clients in helping protect against an adverse tax ruling that can compromise the value of a transaction, a tax equity position, or corporate earnings.

“Aon is excited to join RFA to maximize value for producers and their financial partners throughout the deal life cycle and collaborate with members as we innovate tax credit insurance and transition risk insurance for low CI feedstock origination and production,” said Jonathan Sherrill, Aon vice president for business development. “Our collaborative approach ensures every Aon client is better informed, better advised, and able to make better decisions on a global and local level.”

Ocean Park is a leading boutique investment bank focused on industry segments across the agricultural supply chain including the ag inputs, renewable fuels and chemicals, energy, food and AgTech sectors. The Ocean Park team has significant operational and transaction experience, including advising on mergers and acquisitions, financings and restructurings. Since its founding in 2004, Ocean Park has successfully completed over 80 transactions and client engagements.

“Ocean Park is pleased to join RFA as an associate member and looks forward to being a valuable contributor to the association”, said Mark Fisler, Partner and Managing Director.  “Ocean Park and its professionals have a 30 plus year track record in serving producers as an advisor for project finance, capital markets and merger and acquisition activities and has successfully advised producers on 37 biofuels transactions over the last fifteen years,” added Eric Ouyang, Managing Director.

Cereal Process Technologies provides corn dry fractionation technology to the ethanol industry, which allows ethanol plants to diversify product and revenue streams and turn the ethanol plant into a biorefinery.

“Cereal Process Technologies is thrilled to become a member of the RFA at a time when our unique dry fractionation technology is expanding in the ethanol marketplace,” said CPT President Pete Moss. “Fractionation opens the door to innovation and allows ethanol plants to become true biorefineries. The RFA has always been at the forefront of the ethanol industry, and we are excited to be involved with such an outstanding organization.”

StormFisher Hydrogen develops, owns, and operates hydrogen-based clean fuel production facilities that enable the transition to a low-carbon future. Leveraging its decades of experience in renewable energy, the company corporations, utilities, and governments achieve net zero emissions through these fuels.

“At StormFisher Hydrogen, our plans to foster decarbonization are clear: to develop pioneering eFuels projects in the United States,” said Ashkan Shoja-Nia, VP of Strategy and Business Development. “In joining the Renewable Fuels Association, we are excited to collaborate with ethanol producers to unlock CO2 utilization opportunities and play our part in propelling the industry forward. We see a clear alignment with the RFA’s mission of driving growth in renewable fuels and we’re thrilled to be part of the community. Together, we can make real progress towards a sustainable energy future.”
