As part of the Renewable Fuels Association’s Veterans for Renewable Fuels initiative, the association and Pearson Fuels will be offering free fill-ups of E85 fuel to military veterans, active-duty servicemembers and spouses with an ID on Monday, Feb. 19. The event takes place from noon to 3 p.m. PST at the Exxon station at 2985 Highland Ave. in National City.
In addition to offering free E85 fuel to the 240,000 veterans living in the San Diego area, all drivers are invited to stop by for a tank of E85 fuel for a discounted price of $1.85 per gallon.
E85 – used in flex-fuel vehicles only – is a lower-cost, lower-carbon fuel that blends 85 percent ethanol into gasoline. The average price of E85 in California is more than $1.60 cheaper per gallon than regular gasoline.
