Why I Chose to Buy a Flex-Fuel Vehicle

August 28, 2015

As Rep. Steve Riggs readied to a buy a new car this summer, he added two important items to his usual checklist: Does it increase our country’s energy independence, and is it cleaner environmentally? E85 does both of those things and is less expensive than traditional gasoline, which is why this time around Rep. Riggs bought an FFV.

The Voice of the People

July 07, 2015

There is nothing wrong with the RFS that cannot be fixed by what is right with the RFS. The EPA must listen to the voice of the American people, who have an outspoken desire for a strong program, and not the oil industry.

22 States Broke Through the “E10 Blend Wall”… Two Years Ago

July 01, 2015

Given the oil industry's belief that the “E10 blend wall” is some impenetrable barrier, it may come as quite a shock to them—and the Obama administration—that nearly half of our nation’s 50 states blew past the 10% ethanol level two years ago. It’s likely other states joined the “bye-bye blend wall” club last year as well.

University of Wisconsin Study Based on Shaky Foundation of Faulty Data and Conclusions

April 07, 2015

There is no empirical evidence to support the argument of a University of Wisconsin study, which claims U.S. cropland has expanded since 2008. USDA data clearly show that the area planted to field crops was more than 1 million acres smaller in 2012 than in 2008.

However, the bulk of the responsibility for letting this misinformation come to the light of day belongs to AutoWeek magazine.

Missing Opportunities and Misrepresenting the Facts

March 06, 2015
